Investigators MHH CRC Core Facility

The outstanding research achievements of Hannover Medical School (MHH)—the only German university with an exclusively medical focus—have greatly contributed to elevating it to a leading position among the country’s top university clinics.

More than 1400 medical scientists work on the campus in a wide variety of fields. Although the main focuses of research are transplantation and stem cell studies as well as regenerative medicine, infection and immune research, numerous studies are conducted every year on practically the entire range of indications.

Supported by the experienced team of the MHH CRC Core Facility, medical and scientific specialists collaborate at the CRC Hannover to perform clinical trials to extremely high standards. Because such a large number of well-known investigators are active at the MHH, in the following only the leading investigators of the MHH CRC Core Facility are presented.

Please contact us if you would like detailed information on any other MHH investigators.

Prof. Dr. Christoph Schindler is a physician and clinical pharmacologist who graduated from University of Ulm Medical School in 1999. He worked as a resident in internal medicine and received his specialty training in clinical pharmacology as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute of Clinical Pharmacology of the Medical Faculty of Technical University Dresden. After leading the clinical pharmacology study unit in Dresden for several years, he was appointed head of the MHH CRC Core Facility at Hannover Medical School (MHH). In 2013, Dr. Schindler became a professor extraordinarius at Technical University Dresden, and in 2014 he was awarded a full professorship in clinical pharmacology and drug research at the MHH.

His main scientific interests are the clinical pharmacology of diabetes and cardiovascular and metabolic diseases and, more generally, translational approaches to drug research, to bring new medications from bench to bedside. Dr. Schindler is a member of the German Association for Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology (DGPT e.V.) and the German Diabetes Association (DDG). He is an associate editor and the editor-in-chief, respectively, of the Sage Publications journals Therapeutic Advances in Cardiovascular Disease and Therapeutic Advances in Endocrinology and Metabolism and has authored and coauthored more than 100 scientific publications and 10 book chapters.
