National Cohort at the HZI

“Working together for a healthier Germany” is the main idea behind the German National Cohort, Germany’s largest ongoing epidemiological study, in which the HZI is a partner. A total of around 10,000 participants from the greater Hannover area will be examined and interviewed at the CRC Hannover.

Experimental immunotherapy for advanced cervical cancer is being tested in an open-label phase-I/II study in collaboration with the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the Hannover Medical School at the CRC Hannover

On January 13, an open-label phase-I/II study on a therapeutic approach in advanced cervical cancer was initiated at the CRC Hannover. The principal investigator is Prof. Peter Hillemanns, cervical cancer expert at the Hannover Medical School and S3 guideline coordinator.

Start of a phase-I study in the therapeutic area of Tourette’s syndrome

February 13, 2017

On January 18, 2017, a phase-I study in the therapeutic area of Tourette’s syndrome was started. The PI is the internationally renowned Tourette’s expert, Professor Kirsten Müller-Vahl of the Department of Psychiatry, Social Psychiatry and Psychotherapy of the Hannover Medical School (MHH), conducting this study in collaboration with the MHH team for early-phase clinical trials and drug research (Professor Christoph Schindler) at the CRC Hannover.

New phase-I trial in collaboration with the clinic for Hematology and Hemostaseology initiated at CRC Hannover

On October 26, 2016, the Clinic for Hematology and Hemostaseology (PI Prof. Dr. med. A. Tiede) initiated a phase-I trial in collaboration with the study team of the MHH CRC Core Facility (Prof. Dr. med. C. Schindler).

TRAIN Academy Keynote Lecture

March 2, 2017

On March 2, 2017, Dr. Cord Dohrmann, CSO at Evotec AG, will give a public lecture as part of the TRAIN Academy. Visitors are invited to listen to his talk entitled "Forging high-value collaborations between academia, biotech and big pharma – the Evotec approach". The lecture will be given in the CRC Hannover in room H0.072, starting at 4.30 pm.

April 6-7, 2017

The 2nd Joint Symposium on Nanotechnology, organized by the Fraunhofer Nanotechnology Alliance together with the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment BfR, will be held at the CRC Hannover on April 6 and 7, 2017. Online registration is open.
